Intro
Choosing the right replacement mechanism starts with correctly identifying what you already have. Getting this wrong can lead to poor fit and wasted time.
Step 1: Check the Tube Size

The most important factor is the external tube diameter:
28mm (most common for DIY blinds)
32mm (most common in made to measure blinds)
Step 2: Identify the Control Type
Chain-operated (sidewinder)
Spring-loaded
👉 Most modern blinds use chain mechanisms.
Step 3: Look at the Shape
Different brands use slightly different tubes:
Round ends
Round ends with 1 or 2 slots (see picture above)
👉 Match visually where possible.
Step 4: Check Brackets
25mm & 28mm mechanisms often have different bracket types, 32mm tend to be standard. If
in doubt buy pack containing mechanism, pin end and brackets.
Pro Tip
Take a photo of your mechanism before ordering — it helps ensure a match.
