This Deluxe Roman blind child-safe breakaway mechanism kit provides a 1:4 geared control for compatible Deluxe-type Roman blind headrails.
The geared mechanism reduces the effort required to raise the blind, making it particularly suitable for larger or heavier Roman blinds. The operating chain is designed to release from the control unit if excessive force is applied, providing an integral child-safety feature without the need for a conventional wall-mounted chain tensioner.
Supplied as a useful replacement or upgrade kit with the matching end cap, refitting/reset tool and hex key.
What This Part Does
The control mechanism fits into the end of the Roman blind headrail and operates the square drive rod connected to the cord drums.
The 1:4 geared ratio provides slower, more controlled operation and reduces the effort required to raise the blind compared with a direct 1:1 mechanism.
Child-Safe Breakaway Operation
If excessive force is applied to the operating chain, the chain disengages from the control mechanism.
The mechanism can then be reset and the chain refitted using the supplied refitting/reset tool.
This integral breakaway design provides a neat child-safe alternative to a conventional control mechanism and wall-mounted chain tensioner.
Compatibility
Designed for the Deluxe-type Roman blind headrail, approximately 32mm wide × 36mm high, with an approximately 6mm bottom opening.
This profile is also used by the Hallis Perspectives system.

Retrofit Information
This kit can be used to replace a compatible existing breakaway mechanism or to upgrade a compatible Deluxe-type Roman blind headrail to breakaway operation.
The child-safe mechanism is slightly longer than some conventional Deluxe control mechanisms. When retrofitting it to an existing headrail, the square drive rod may need to be shortened slightly to accommodate the new mechanism.
The mechanism is secured to the square drive rod using the supplied hex key.
