Quality white-backed flame-retardant blackout roller blind fabric supplied by the continuous linear metre, combining excellent light exclusion with a coloured interior-facing surface and a white window-facing backing.

Unlike conventional colour-backed blackout fabric, Eden White Backed allows you to choose a colour to complement the inside of the room while maintaining a clean, consistent white appearance when viewed from outside the window.

The white backing also provides increased solar reflectance, helping to reflect more incoming solar energy at the window rather than absorbing it into the fabric. This makes Eden White Backed particularly useful for sunny windows and rooms where blackout, privacy and improved solar control are all important.

Made from 100% polyester and tested to BS 5867 Part 2 Type B, Eden White Backed is suitable for domestic, commercial, educational, healthcare and contract environments.

Why Choose White-Backed Blackout Fabric?

With a conventional blackout fabric, the reverse of the blind will often be the same or a similar colour to the room-facing side.

Eden White Backed is different.

The decorative colour faces into the room, while the surface facing the window is white. This offers two useful advantages.

Firstly, blinds in different colours can still present a consistent white appearance from outside the building. This can be particularly useful where several windows are visible together.

Secondly, the white backing provides higher solar reflectance, helping to reflect incoming solar energy back towards the window.

This makes Eden White Backed a particularly useful option for:

  • Sunny and south-facing windows

  • Bedrooms requiring blackout

  • Offices and computer environments

  • Schools and healthcare settings

  • Commercial buildings

  • Rooms where reducing glare and solar heat gain is important

  • Properties where a consistent external appearance is preferred

Eden White Backed or Standard Eden Blackout?

Both fabrics provide excellent blackout performance and flame-retardant properties.

Choose standard Eden FR Blackout if you want the conventional colour-backed fabric and access to the much larger Eden colour range.

Choose Eden White Backed FR Blackout if you want a coloured blind inside the room but prefer a white appearance towards the window, together with the additional solar-reflectance benefits of the white backing.

The colours in the White Backed range are designed to coordinate with corresponding colours from the standard Eden Blackout range, making it possible to maintain a consistent interior colour scheme while choosing different performance characteristics for different rooms.

Ordering Your Fabric

Fabric is sold by the linear metre with a minimum order of 2 metres.

Simply choose your colour and select the number of metres required.

For example:

Quantity 2 = 200cm long × 200cm wide

Quantity 3 = 300cm long × 200cm wide

Quantity 4 = 400cm long × 200cm wide

Multiple metres will be supplied as one continuous length wherever possible.

How Much Fabric Do I Need?

When replacing the fabric on an existing roller blind, don't order fabric equal to the finished blind drop.

As a general guide, we recommend allowing approximately 30cm extra beyond the finished blind drop. This provides material for the bottom finish and allows sufficient fabric to remain wrapped around the roller tube when the blind is fully lowered.

For example, a blind with a finished drop of 150cm would normally require approximately 180cm of fabric, meaning a 2-metre order would be appropriate.

Making More Than One Blind?

The full 200cm fabric width can make this particularly economical when replacing or making several narrower blinds.

Depending on the widths required, it may be possible to cut two blind covers side-by-side from the same width of fabric.

If you're making several blinds, please contact us before ordering. We can help you consider the most economical way of using the fabric.

Choosing Your Colour

Eden White Backed is available in 10 carefully selected colours, all with the same white window-facing backing.

Please remember that colours displayed online are for guidance only. Photography, scanning, lighting and individual phone, tablet and monitor settings can significantly affect how a fabric colour appears on screen.

If the exact colour is important, we strongly recommend ordering a physical fabric swatch before purchasing your fabric.

Fabric samples are free – simply pay the postage, which is refundable against your subsequent fabric order.

Cut-to-Length Fabric & Returns

Please check your required quantity and colour carefully before ordering. Roller blind fabric is cut from the roll specifically to the length ordered and, once cut, cannot normally be returned or exchanged because the wrong quantity or colour has been selected, or because you have changed your mind. Colours can appear differently on screens, so we strongly recommend ordering a fabric swatch before purchasing, particularly where colour matching is important. This does not affect your statutory rights if the fabric is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
