Signature FR Blackout Roller Blind Fabric by the Metre – 200cm Wide
Quality flame-retardant blackout roller blind fabric supplied by the continuous linear metre, ideal for replacing worn or damaged roller blind fabric, changing the colour of an existing blind, or making your own roller blind.
Made from 100% polyester, this substantial FR blackout fabric is designed to provide a high level of light exclusion and privacy, making it particularly suitable for bedrooms, offices, schools, healthcare environments, presentation rooms and other areas where greater control of incoming light is required.
Tested to BS 5867 Part 2 Type B, Signature FR Blackout is suitable for commercial and contract environments where flame-retardant fabric may be required or preferred. It is equally suitable for domestic roller blinds where an FR blackout fabric is wanted.
At 200cm wide, it is suitable for a wide range of roller blind projects and is available in a carefully selected range of five neutral colours: White, Off White, Light Grey, Mid Grey and Dark Grey.
For larger blinds, Signature FR Blackout is also available in separate 250cm and 300cm wide options.

Ordering Your Fabric
Fabric is sold by the linear metre with a minimum order of 2 metres.
Simply choose your colour and select the number of metres required.
For example:
Quantity 2 = 200cm long × 200cm wide
Quantity 3 = 300cm long × 200cm wide
Quantity 4 = 400cm long × 200cm wide
Multiple metres will be supplied as one continuous length wherever possible.
How Much Fabric Do I Need?
When replacing the fabric on an existing roller blind, don't order fabric equal to the finished blind drop.
As a general guide, we recommend allowing approximately 30cm extra beyond the finished blind drop. This provides material for the bottom finish and allows sufficient fabric to remain wrapped around the roller tube when the blind is fully lowered.
For example, a blind with a finished drop of 150cm would normally require approximately 180cm of fabric, meaning a 2-metre order would be appropriate.
Making More Than One Blind?
The full 200cm fabric width can make this particularly economical when replacing or making several narrower blinds.
Depending on the widths required, it may be possible to cut two blind covers side-by-side from the same width of fabric. For example, two blinds around 90cm wide may potentially be cut from a single 200cm width, subject to the required cutting and finishing allowances.
If you're making several blinds, please feel free to contact us before ordering. We can help you consider the most economical way of using the fabric.
Why Choose a Flame-Retardant Fabric?
Signature FR Blackout combines the light-blocking and privacy benefits of a blackout roller blind fabric with flame-retardant performance tested to BS 5867 Part 2 Type B.
This makes it particularly useful for applications where an FR fabric is specified or preferred, including offices, schools, healthcare settings and other commercial or contract environments.
Its five-colour range concentrates on practical neutral shades — White, Off White, Light Grey, Mid Grey and Dark Grey — suitable for a wide variety of domestic and commercial interiors.
FR Blackout or FR Daylight Fabric?
This FR Blackout fabric is designed to provide significantly greater light exclusion than a daylight fabric, making it a good choice for bedrooms and other rooms where reducing incoming light and increasing privacy are priorities.
If you want to retain more natural daylight while still providing screening and privacy, see our Signature FR Daylight Roller Blind Fabric instead.
If you require an FR blackout fabric with a much wider choice of colours, our Yewdale Eden FR Blackout fabric is also available.
Choosing Your Colour
Please remember that colours displayed online are for guidance only. Scanning, photography, lighting and individual phone, tablet and monitor settings can significantly affect how a fabric colour appears on screen.
If the exact colour is important, we strongly recommend ordering a physical fabric swatch before purchasing your fabric.
Up to 4 fabric swatches are available for £3.95, with the sample cost redeemable against a qualifying subsequent roller blind fabric order.

Cut-to-Length Fabric & Returns
Please check your required quantity and colour carefully before ordering. Roller blind fabric is cut from the roll specifically to the length ordered and, once cut, cannot normally be returned or exchanged because the wrong quantity or colour has been selected, or because you have changed your mind. Colours can appear differently on screens, so we strongly recommend ordering a fabric swatch before purchasing, particularly where colour matching is important. This does not affect your statutory rights if the fabric is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
