Yare FR Voile Roller Blind Fabric by the Metre – 290cm Wide
Quality flame-retardant voile roller blind fabric supplied by the continuous linear metre, ideal for creating light, contemporary roller blinds where maximum natural daylight and a sheer appearance are desired.
Made from 100% polyester, Yare is a lightweight translucent voile that allows a high level of natural light through the blind while providing a soft layer of screening at the window. Unlike conventional daylight or blackout roller blind fabrics, its sheer construction helps retain a light and open appearance.
At an impressive 290cm wide, Yare is particularly useful for large and extra-wide roller blinds, as well as projects where several narrower blind covers can be cut from the same fabric width.
Yare is flame retardant to BS 5867 Part 2 Type B and is available in six colours: White, Vanilla, Tan, Taupe, Anthracite and Black.

Ordering Your Fabric
Fabric is sold by the linear metre with a minimum order of 2 metres.
Simply choose your colour and select the number of metres required.
For example:
Quantity 2 = 200cm long × 290cm wide
Quantity 3 = 300cm long × 290cm wide
Quantity 4 = 400cm long × 290cm wide
Multiple metres will be supplied as one continuous length wherever possible.
How Much Fabric Do I Need?
When replacing the fabric on an existing roller blind, don't order fabric equal to the finished blind drop.
As a general guide, we recommend allowing approximately 30cm extra beyond the finished blind drop. This provides material for the bottom finish and allows sufficient fabric to remain wrapped around the roller tube when the blind is fully lowered.
For example, a blind with a finished drop of 150cm would normally require approximately 180cm of fabric, meaning a 2-metre order would be appropriate.
Making More Than One Blind?
The generous 290cm fabric width can make Yare particularly useful when replacing or making several narrower blinds.
Depending on the widths required, it may be possible to cut two or even more blind covers side-by-side from the same width of fabric, subject to the required cutting and finishing allowances.
For example, three relatively narrow blinds may potentially be produced across a 290cm fabric width where their individual dimensions allow.
If you're making several blinds, please feel free to contact us before ordering. We can help you consider the most economical way of using the fabric.
What Is Voile Roller Blind Fabric?
Voile is considerably more sheer than a conventional daylight or blackout roller blind fabric.
Yare is designed for applications where maintaining natural daylight and a light, translucent appearance are priorities. It can provide useful daytime screening while still allowing light through and retaining a greater sense of openness at the window.
Because voile is a sheer fabric, however, it should not be relied upon for complete privacy, particularly at night when lights are switched on inside the room.
For greater privacy and reduced light transmission, one of our Daylight Roller Blind Fabrics may be more appropriate. For greater light exclusion, choose a Blackout Roller Blind Fabric.
Why Choose a Flame-Retardant Voile?
Yare combines the light, sheer appearance of a voile with flame-retardant performance to BS 5867 Part 2 Type B.
This makes it particularly interesting for offices, commercial interiors and other contract applications where a light-transmitting fabric is wanted but an FR specification may also be required or preferred.
Its 290cm width also provides an unusual solution for particularly large windows where many standard roller blind fabrics simply aren't wide enough.
Choosing Your Colour
Yare is available in:
White, Vanilla, Tan, Taupe, Anthracite and Black.
Please remember that colours displayed online are for guidance only. Scanning, photography, lighting and individual phone, tablet and monitor settings can significantly affect how a fabric colour appears on screen.
This is particularly relevant with a voile fabric because its appearance can also change depending on the light behind it and the surrounding interior.
If the exact colour or degree of transparency is important, we strongly recommend ordering a physical fabric swatch before purchasing your fabric.
Up to 4 fabric swatches are available for £3.95, with the sample cost redeemable against a qualifying subsequent roller blind fabric order.

Cut-to-Length Fabric & Returns
Please check your required quantity and colour carefully before ordering. Roller blind fabric is cut from the roll specifically to the length ordered and, once cut, cannot normally be returned or exchanged because the wrong quantity or colour has been selected, or because you have changed your mind. Colours can appear differently on screens, so we strongly recommend ordering a fabric swatch before purchasing, particularly where colour matching is important. This does not affect your statutory rights if the fabric is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
